Why hasn't it worked out for Jasikevicius in Indianapolis?
Yaron Talpaz a Commentator & Reporter from Sport 5 Channel, Israel has published an article in his blog regarding Sarunas current situation in the NBA, I think it's pretty interesting, so take a look:

The NBA is a different league, not only with better basketball players than everybody else but also with different basketball systems. This is well known. When Sarunas Jasikevicius lit up the dream team in Athens after he did the same in Sydney 4 years earlier, Larry Brown was asked by an Israeli colleague & friend why isn't he playing in the League. Brown answered: "Different game".

Why didn't Saras play against Orlando?
Everyone is wondering why didn't Saras play a single minute in the last game against Orlando, here's a Q&A which may help you understand why this happened:

At the beginning of the year, the big talk was about how the Pacers acquired Sarunas Jasikevicius, and how he would be a big-time impact player. Well, over the season, I have noticed that his role is constantly diminishing and it seems that there are some games where he plays quite a bit and then there are others he doesn't play at all. Why is this and could this create a problem in the future? (From Jason in Zionsville, Ind.)

I was at the forefront of those who believed Jasikevicius would be an impact player with the Pacers. I believed his leadership skills, shooting, creativity and ability to run a team would make a big difference. The thing is, I still believe all of those factors could – and one day will – make him a very important player. However, I'm beginning to wonder if he still believes, because he isn't playing with nearly the same confidence, aggression or passion as earlier in the season.

Happy Birthday Saras!
Sarunas Jasikevicius and the Indiana Pacers took on Iverson on the Sixers today. Anthony Johnson started the game out strong at point guard but Saras finished it off stronger. Jasikevicius couldn't have hoped for a better win against a very good team in the 76'ers. Sarunas made some late heroic threes and some nice passes to put the Pacers up by a notch to win the game 94-93. With a couple seconds left in the fourth quarter Jasikevicius inbounded the ball to Stephen Jackson for an easy lay up. Sixer's coach Maurice Cheeks obviously thought that they were going to shoot the ball but Jackson cut inside for the easy layup off Jasikevicius' pass. Jasikevicius made three trays and a shot and a foul on one play to give him 12 points for the game. Saras also had a rebound and a steal off Chris Webber late in the game. What made Sarunas great late in the game was his ability to be a leader and set up the Pacers offense to a tone the Sixer's couldn't handle it. The sixer's began the game trying to trap Jasikevicius but as the game went on Saras adjusted to it and played a very good game and a huge win over a Sixer team who had won five straight games. Anthony Johnson had 18 pts,Stephen Jackson had 15 pts and off the bench second year man David Harrison contributed with 13 pts,2 huge blocks and a couple of rebounds. On the other side Iverson had 33 points and nine assists while Webber added 17 points.

Saras Is Engaged
Yes, it's true, Saras is getting married! (Congratulations!) He proposed his girlfriend (now his fiancée) Linor Abargil, who was proclaimed Miss World back on 1998. This information was published in an Israeli newspaper although we highly believe it's 100% real.
We wish to the couple lots of happiness in their future together!
For now, there's no information about any scheduled date for the wedding to take place or even the location. We'll keep you updated.

On the other hand, Saras was featured on channel TV3 from Lithuania, they showed some kind of documentary about his life, you can check it out right here

By the way, tomorrow Saras turns 30, so I've created a guestbook where you can leave all your messages to him on that special day but please remember you can write ONLY in english, otherwise your message will be deleted.

Pacers vs. Pistons and More
In a resiliant effort the Jasikevicius and the Pacers lost to the Pistons last night. The game was good and exciting and despite having their best player out on the sidelines with an injury the Pacers ended up only losing to the Pistons by 5 points 88-83. Sarunas Jasikevicius played a nice game with 9 pts, 4 assists and a steal, Stephen Jackson scored 15 points, Danny Granger had 11 pts and Pollard grabbed 11 rebounds.
